You may just dig these fresh KaneTrax – get listening!

Kicking things off this month is the self described “cosmic rock and roll duo” of Color Green with In My Mind off their debut EP – four tracks very much worth a listen. Javier Matos is an old-school blues guitarist who’s sound evokes a bygone era in a surprisingly fresh way. He collaborated with The California Honeydrops on an LP this year and Gangster Blues showcases the fantastic results. Next up is an old favorite, Ryley Walker, who was actually featured on the first ever KaneTrax back in 2016. He formed his own record label in order to release Course in Fable and the results were stellar. Another KaneTrax veteran Valerie June has one of the most unique singing voices in the business these days and she’s simply delightful with Call Me A Fool. The next tune is Righteousness by Merl Saunders, from a fantastic compilation called Orange Sunset the Jazz Dispensary. The Cool Ghouls are northern California garage rockers with a vintage sound. At George’s Zoo is their latest album and Helpless Circumstance is an earworm with psychedelic dueling guitars that simply rips. The City Champs is an organ heavy trio of soul out of Memphis and Lockdown City showcases their latest album in the best way. Silver Synthetic’s debut album was put out by Third Man Records, so it’s obviously great, top to bottom. I really dug Out of the Darkness but it wasn’t easy to pick just one tune – give the entire album a spin. Introducing… The Pink Stones. Another debut album that has been on repeat for me lately. Also, not easy to pick one tune, but KaneTrax must end somewhere and this month it’s the Barroom Blues.
