December 2020

Make your holidays happier with new KaneTrax!

One of the best top-to-bottom albums I’ve gotten into lately is without-a-doubt David Nance’s Staunch Honey. It rips right from the top with The Merchandise taking leadoff on the album as well as this month’s playlist. From there things get jazzy (Dougie Stu), spacy (Frankie and the Witch Fingers) and vibey (Skinshape). CARRTOONS bring a stripped down R&B feel to a really enjoyable album, and Gimme Your Love is a catchy tune that might just become your next earworm. Their single, I Told You (You Shall Die) has a sort of metal meets gospel energy, with it’s haunting vocals on top of heavy, shred-y guitar riffs, and has me very excited for Here Lies Man’s early 2021 album. Next up is German singer-songwriter Paul Rudolf and his Rayland Baxter produced album has Ray’s fingerprints all over it. It’s hard not to like this one if you dig his style. And if you’ve been paying attention, you’ll know we at KaneTrax are big fans of King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard and it’s hard not to feature them when the continue to put out top quality tunes. Their album K.G. is no exception and Honey is an A+ tune. And to bring it all home, Cut Worms, with my favorite tune from the highly recommended Nobody Lives Here Anymore.
